1. Explain the difference between the four categories of pesticides (herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, rodenticides).

2. Describe the two major groups of herbicides (selective vs. nonselective) and distinguish between broad-leaf herbicides and grass herbicides.

3. Address the issues associated with the persistence of pesticides in the environment.

4. Link the discussion of this topic to our discussion of risk assessment from earlier in the year.

5. Using Roundup as an example, discuss the potential ecological impacts of pesticide use.  Don’t forget to discuss the potential impact on vernal pools.

6. Make a sales pitch for why we should use herbicides on large scale farms.
